The project for the Arno river park competition proposes to give unity to the riverside near San Giovanni Valdarno and to become a cognitive and regulatory tool, useful for ensuring compatibility between the settlement and environmental protection.
The industrial areas that occupied the long river, once abandoned, offer the possibility of redevelopment, and become a real resource for the territory. The river park of the Arno thus becomes a complex environment, in which naturalistic, landscape, hygienic and documentary aspects complement each other, forming a valuable territorial system, and contributing to the revitalization of the town of San Giovanni and neighbouring countries.
